2015 Melbourne Cup Fashion Tips

October 25, 2015

Fashion is a big part of this Racing Carnival with competitions like Fashion On The Field in every Racing event around Australia and like every year, ladies try to secure themselves the best possible outfit so they just want to get it right. In this year Carnival outfits will be even more fabulous than the previous years.

On Derby Day opt for a white-on-white styling, which is always very trendy, timeless and classy. It will leave you looking chic and elegant, but also keep you cool during all the hot outdoor racing festivities. Two piece suits or jumpsuits are the perfect combination this season. Another great option for Derby Day is a slim-fitting knee-length and over the knee dress that will flatter your figure and produce a feminine silhouette. Three quarter and long sleeves are also another stylish and flattering  option.

Melbourne Cup Day is all about colour and more colour. We love the wide-leg trouser trend and to make a statement just add lots of colour, detail, exotic prints and the most striking accessories you can find.

On Oaks Day you want to achieve a look that is chic and simple. Soft tones, floral pinks, lace and frills are all good options for the big Ladies Day.

Stakes Day marks the end of the four-day Cup Carnival racing event  and it is a day for families where people embrace a more relaxed style. Use natural fabrics to keep cool and comfortable, A-line dresses, maxi dresses and big skirts in pastel colours.

Here is a quick summary guide to use this spring:

•Use colour blocking. This can involve wearing one colour from head to toe, or utilising two contrasting colours especially in Melbourne Cup;

•Associate  white garments with beautiful authentic bright accessories

•Lace is huge this season

•Adopt a 40s vintage style

•Small hats rather than wide brimmed

•Always pay attention to the dress code of the day, such as Black and White for Derby Day and brighter colours for Oaks Day

Last but not least, have fun, relax,  play safe and do not forget about lashing up and making those eyes looking fabulous and very glamorous. To lock in your appiontment call/text 0414 414 888.
